The partners and their role in the project:
Lore will deliver an Integrate Knowledge Management Technology and Human Resource Management System to exploit Human Capital Value.
The system allows to integrate people, competencies, processes, projects and document information for providing a common Knowledge Portal in order to enhance the team work inside the enterprise.
Further, it will facilitate the automated corporate knowledge sharing through a dynamic taxonomy and a linguistic analysis both of the documents and the people competencies.
The LORE project has an integrated architecture at three levels: K-Base, K-Portal, K-Map supported by linguistic tools and information retrieval system.

LORE supports people in collaborative but also personalised knowledge management: KM portals, professional profiles, personal accounting and skills certification.
LORE is an innovative approach that links knowledge with people and use linguistic tools and techniques to exploit information about expertise, skills and competencies, documents information and other internal or external information sources. Using LORE, a company that knows the gap between actual and required organisational competencies can recruit, train, compensate and better manage them.
When someone makes a search in the system’s portal one will not just get a number of documents but also receive the information on people with competencies and knowledge within the area that is being searched. This extra facility to find THE people with the right competencies is unique for LORE KM tool.

LORE allows users the use of functions like:
LORE posses an Automatic Feedback Layer powered by linguistic techniques and language technologies that enable the knowledge base to be automatically updated from different sources. The AFL maintains linguistic profiles of knowledge objects like people, skills and documents, performing comparisons between new information and existing knowledge.
LORE allows the organisation of the unstructured information: semantic based and cross lingual search tools, assessment and extraction of information and knowledge.
LORE can be easily used as a part of the recruitment process. From a a job description or a known vacancy or even a textual description of skills and expertise, LORE can search selected sources for a comparison match of CVs with job description. The source selection may include internal data, subscription recruitment services and Internet sources.
LORE can easily manage training courses, access and update employees skills and competencies, update documents, company’s glossaries, provide text summaries and content comparisons.
